Sehee Kim is a painter primarily focused on making large-scale abstract works. She explores the question of being through embodied use of oil paint and panoramic scale, providing physical context for the spectator to experience the work with one's essence in existence: the body. Her solo exhibition Chronomatic Echoes was presented at A.I.R. Gallery, Brooklyn in 2025, and was featured in IMPULSE Magazine's Editors' Selects. She received the Howardena Pindell Excellence Award (2024), Kusama Art Award (2023), and the Dorothy G. Pieper Memorial Purchase Prize (2023), She holds an MFA from Stony Brook University and a BA from Hunter College. She lives and works in Queens, New York. |
